About This Item
Canoga Park, CA: Psi Fi Movie Press, Inc, 1986. First Edition, First Printing. Softcover. Very Good. 53 p. : ill. ; 28 cm. 4to. Photo-illustrated glossy staplebound wraps. Condition: Very Good. Shows rubbing to the panels with a crease to front panel and some yellowing. Describes the plots of "Man From UNCLE" episodes which aired during the show's last season on television. Includes a discussion of the actors, characters, and props. This first edition also includes the script and teleplay from a "Man from Uncle" marathon that channel 61 [WTIC, Hartford, Conn.] broadcast in February, 1986 as a lead-in to the new season. A solid copy. The book picks up just as the fourth (and final) season is gearing up and nobody is happy. The third season was a disaster, everyone knows that the show is teetering on the brink of being cancelled, and no one agrees about how to save it. Waverly is deteriorating mentally and struggles with his lines, Robert Vaughn hates the new showrunner and the feeling's mutual, it's apparent that the new female lead has not been hired for her acting ability. The format of the book is to interview the various players as the days go by and print 2-3 paragraph excerpts coming from each of them in a loose, free form manner. This set-up works perfectly to fan the flames of conflict for all concerned.
