Houghton Mifflin, 1981-04-23. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Signed. SIGNED, without inscription, by Richard Ford on the title page. The volume, with pushed spine ends, is in a lightly soiled, unclipped dust jacket which is gently toned on the spine and has a 1/4" closed tear (with associated creasing) on the base of the rear panel near the fold. The jacket is now sleeved in mylar.
Synopsis
The author of five novels and two collections of stories, Richard Ford was awarded the Pulitzer Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award for Independence Day , the first book to win both prizes. In 2001 he received the PEN/Malamud Award for excellence in short fiction.
