Typed Letter Signed. Fine.. Typed Letter Signed. An undated typed letter from Kern to a fan who had requested musical quotations or an autograph. In the letter (about 70 words) Kern agrees to the collector's request, adding "I thought it might be amusing to transcribe a bit of unsophisticated music from "Show Boat", the last musical play of mine produced in America, for the younger members of your family. For yourself the transcription from a later period in the same play shows the development of the same theme for maturer and more philosophic intellects". Signed in full by Kern on Bronxville stationery with embossed letterhead. Folded sheet, ca. 5"x8", without envelope. PLEASE NOTE that all our First Editions are also First Printings, unless we specifically note otherwise. All our dust jackets are protected in clear mylar covers.
