About This Item
London: Edward Stanford, 1902. First. Hardcover. VG+. 209 pp, 80 full page ill, pull out rear pocket map. Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania and Central Africa. Buxton was one of FC Selous' favorite authors. A lovely thick book crammed full of the author's hunting for African big game. Throughout British East Africa. Czech calls this "an impressive work." African antelope stamped on front cover and lion head stamped on rear. Good to look at and to read. A hunting classic. VG+ in lightly soiled (as usual) orig. printed buckram. Scarce title. Bookplate of noted hunter, collector and former New Hampshire Governor Walter Rutherford Peterson inside front cover. Nice association.
