About This Item

Cincinnati: Chase & Hall, 1875. First Edition. 8vo, pp. 199. Bound in publisher's brown cloth stamped in gilt. Spine gilt, (lacks front blanks, ex-library, couple of library stamps, a good copy. See Howes R-64. Originally published in Cincinnati in 1875. Howes erroneously says that this is a reprint of her Texas book published in 1850, but it is a separate book. Not in the Graff Collection. Very scarce. Rankin followed her missionary zeal through Mississippi and Kentucky and then traveled on to Texas where she settled in Huntsville and opened a school for Mexican children on the American side of the Rio Grande.
