New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1928. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Green blind-embossed leatherette with gilt spine lettering. 315pp. Tissue-guarded frontispiece. Very good. Faint edgewear only, mainly at spine head and tail. A tight, attractive reprint edition of this 1923 novel by the New York County assistant district attorney better known as a mystery novelist (1875-1945) who pioneered the courtroom thriller genre and immortalized attorney Ephraim Tutt.
