About This Item
Andre Deutsch, London, 1969. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Good. Illustrator: Faye Owner -- Illustrator ( Seymour Fleishman -- Cover Art ]. The text is illustrated with numerous black-and-white drawings of native plants and animals of northwestern Australia. Yellow coloured boards with blue titles to the backstrip. Colour illustrated dustwrapper, by Seymour Fleishman, with white titles to the front panel and backstrip. A little rubbing to the dustwrapper corners and to the dustwrapper edges. A small closed tear to the top left-hand corner of the front dustwrapper panel. Joan and Jim were excited to go to Turtle Bay in far north West Australia. There they met Patsy and Tony and their Aboriginal grandfather Ben Marshall. Grandfather Ben took all for children in to the surrounding bush and taught them how to look for food and water in an apparently desolate in environment. These lessons came into their own when a three-year-old girl wandered off in to the bush and it was up to the children to bring her home safely. A little bumping to the backstrip edges and rubbing to the book corners. Foxing and light browning to the top text block edge and light browning and scattered foxing to the other text block edges. Very light age toning to the internal text. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. VI, 120 pages, last page blank..
