The story centers on Maggie, a young girl from the Bowery who is driven to unfortunate circumstances by poverty and solitude. After the success of 1895's The Red Badge of Courage, Maggie was reissued in 1896 with considerable changes and…

St. Ives: Being The Adventures of a French Prisoner in England (1897) is an unfinished novel by Robert Louis Stevenson. It was completed in 1898 by Arthur Quiller-Couch. Unable to write, Stevenson dictated thirty chapters of the novel to his stepdaughter as a diversion from his debilitating illness.
