Chicago: The Caxton Club, 1923. Hardcover. 4to. Half vellum and tan paper over boards. (Ca. 50pp). 24 full-page plates (as called for; 3 color). Very good. Binding typically slightly soiled, else internally fine. A tight and attractive first edition. Limited to 160 copies. Wilkins studies the many genealogical tables used by Boccaccio in both manuscript and early printed versions of his "Genealogia deorum gentilium," a mythological encyclopedia. All captioned tissue guards present and pristine. A superb copy, with the original Caxton Club prospectus laid in.
