About This Item

New York, NY: Liveright Publishing Corp., 2002. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Witold Gordon. NF/NF/first printing this edition.. The Travels of Marco Polo (The Venetian) is the oldest travelogue going. Columbus and Magellan both owned copies of this book. However not from this publisher. This is the 4th time Liveright has published this book, three times in the 20th century. Edited with a introduction by Manuel Komroff, and illustations by Witold Gordon, this particular copy is clean and very attractive. Red cloth over boards with black lettering on spine. Tight, square and sharp cornered; the only flaw is the former owner's blind stamp on the front free endpaper. The jacket has excellent even color, no tears or nicks, price is intact. The jacket has been covered with a mylar sleeve for protection. 32 two color wood cut illustrations from Liveright's original publication have been reproduced for this edition. Considered by National Geographic to be one of the ten best travel adventures ever written. 370pp., notes, index. Comes to you in an archival document bag for storage. Mailed boxed, and I can have it in the mail to you tomorrow.
