London: Macdonald, 1958. Gold title on green cloth boards which are very clean and unmarked with no wear. Internally there is a small gift inscription to front endpaper and foxing to closed egdges else very clean, tight and unmarked. Dustjacket is VG with little wear. First UK edition. When the author read an advertisement in a New York literary weekly inviting recruits for an expedition into America's impressive canyon country, she answered it, reasoning that 64 is the right age for adventure, and whilst many of her age may have harboured similar thoughts she acted on her impulse. So it was she found herself the solitary woman in a party of seven boatmen and photographers on a 60 day voyage by rubber raft down the Green and Colorado rivers, encountering dangers, hazards and discomforts, in waters seldo navigated by man. B2C. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
