Description:
New York: Harcourt Brace, 1925. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 4th printing. two of two volumes. After studying at several European universities, Keyserling began a world tour in 1911 that provided the material for his best-known work. Keyserling's approach to philosophy was essentially nonacademic, and his ideas, which centred on the theme of spiritual regeneration, were often platitudinous or obscure. With an insatiable interest in countries, Keyserling also interpreted the soul of South America and, less perceptively, analyzed the whole spectrum of European nations..

Jonathan Cape, London, 1927. Reprint. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition. The cloth of the binding has been torn at the top right of the rear panel/spine seam and at the top left of the panel, and head and tail of the spine section. Internally, the book is clean, without damage, and without annotations. Indexed. "The bodhisattva says yes to the most evil world, for he knows himself to be one with it. Rid of himself, he feels his foundation in God, his surface, however, intertwined with everything which exists. Thus he must love all beings as he loves himself, but he cannot rest until everyone mirrors divinity in everything. The bodhisattva, not the sage, embodies the aim of human aspiration." – Page 702 Translation of: Das Reisetagebuch eines Philosophen. translated by J.
