First edition thus with single publication date of September, 1928 on the copyright page. Brown cloth boards with red text on front and spine. Illustrated end pages. Previous owner's bookplate on front pastedown and on the half-title page there is an indentation where his signature was penciled and then erased. Poorly separated page at 296/297, where it appears pages were uncut and then separated by owner. Spine lightly sunned. Book condition graded as VG. See photos.

Maroon covers with red lettering on front and spine. Half title page has a gift inscription written on it. Front endpaper has a scrape in upper corner from where it was stuck to the dust jacket. Side edge of pages has slight foxing. Some pages have some tanning. Book is in good condition. Dust jacket is faded some along spine, worn and torn along top edge and at the corners, and has foxing at top. DJ has some scuffing, is price clipped, and is in acceptable condition. 310 pages, 2.1 lbs.; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 310 pages .
