London, England: Smith, Elder & Co. Very Good with No Dust Jacket as issued. 1848. First Edition: First Printing. Hard Cover. 611 pages: 5 x 8 in.: 2.4: KB#011175: No Jacket As Issued. "St. Paul's To St. James's. With Forty-Five Illustrations." per the title pages, but, besides quite a few small chapter head illustrations, the two books contain frontispieces in each volume, plus a total of 26 large illustrations engraved by C. Thurston Thompson, from drawings by J. W. Archer and C. T. Thompson. Volume 1 contains 300 pages and Volume 2 has 311 pages, followed by a 12-page catalog of other works published by Smith, Elder & Co. Boards are original blind stamped, dark orange cloth, with gilt lettering on spine. Boards and pages are clean, unmarked (no writing, marks, or bookplates found at all), bright, tightly bound (except for beginning cracking of hinge in front of title page in vol. 1) and sharp cornered (except for some light wear at spine edges). Scarce, Out Of Print, Book. "The reader will find an account of London, partly topographical and historical, but chiefly recalling the memories of remarkable characters and events associated with its streets." .
