by Dwiggins, William Addison

  • Used
NY: Limited Editions Club, 1932. Dwiggins, William Addison. Quarto. 23pp., (4)ff. One of 452 copies, signed by the author. Dwiggins facetiously discusses the atrocities of the present design of currency and postage stamps, proposing new ones based on those issued by the fictional country of the Antipodes. Includes plates of Antipodean stamps and a currency sample tipped-in. A near fine copy in leather-backed patterned boards, which show some rubbing to the spine and light foxing to the page edges. Housed in a partial glassine wrapper and a slipcase that is a bit soiled with a few small splits at the joints. An important and scarce Dwiggins title. (Agner 32.02; LEC Bibliography S-1).
