Very informative book on the torture and torments of Christian martyrs in history.Limited edition for the subscibers, 243 pages in overall clean condition but lightly foxed throughout and more heavily foxed to first and last couple of pages, the pages are untrimmed on two sides and trimmed and dyed red to top outer edges. 46 B/w full page illustrations, all present as listed plus very informative text, NO dustwrapper, outer boards are marked and spine appears to have been reglued along rear edgeat some time, vellum spine and corners are a little darkened,some wear to corners and top and bottom of spine. Though not perfect still a presentable example of this book SEE IMAGES. DETAILED IMAGES AVAILABLE ON REQUEST. Reprint Limited Edition 1903. Half Vellum Boards. Good/No Jacket. 10 ¼ x 8 Inches. Hardcover.

Mild shelfwear to head and tail of spine with minor scratching along length. Moderate shelfwear to boards with mild possible water damage to front cover. Mild chipping to back cover and all edges slightly exposing boards. Minor scraping along top of back cover. Bumping to fore-edges. Tanning and minor soiling to edges of textblock. Light writing in pencil to top of first free edge. Age-toning to textblock consisting of English mould-made paper. Forty-six original full-page plates tipped in throughout. Shelved in Case 12. Originally written by Roman Priest Reverend Father Antonio Gallonio in the late 16th century under the title "De SS.
