Vol.#13 in the second Tom Swift series, which was comprised of 33 volumes written under the pseudonym Victor Appleton II. One of the original blue tweed cloth-covered books with wrap-around pictorial DJs, this is a true FIRST EDITION, First Printing from 1958, listing to Self in front matter & on rear flap, HB #38 on back DJ cover, self summary on front DJ flap. In 183 pages with a plain frontispiece & blue/white endpapers by illustrator Graham Kaye. Book condition is Fine: exceptionally clean, binding straight & strong, hinges intact, pages creamy white with just a whisper of tanning to edges, completely unmarked, edges & corners crisp. The unclipped DJ is downgraded to VG: very clean with minor rubbing to extremities, but a large chunk out of middle spine & lighter chipping at head of spine; nicely protected in new mylar cover Free!
