Paris: Editions de la Difference, 1989. First Edition. Softcover. Near Fine. Jean Tinguely. But for some minor crimping to bottom edges, leaving text-block untouched, two fine-looking, tightly bound, internally clean softcover copies, in French, published in Paris by Editions de la Difference. Sans original slipcase, but with 128 pp. and six sketches on fold-out pages and 123 photographic reproductions of superior quality printed on high-gloss, coated paper. Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography. Volume I 128 pp.; Volume II consists wholly of full-color plates. Born in 1925 in Friborg, Germany and having died in 1991, Jean Tinguely was considered to be an influential and prolific "Nouveux Réaliste". The author writes that "Tinguely invented neither the rehabilitation of scrap nor sculpture in motion. His originality is to have brought these two currents together." His sculpture and assemblages recall the best works of Kurt Schwitters, ans Arp, Alexander Calder and Marcel Duchamp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
