London: Readers Union - Rupert Hart-Davis, 1956. (xiii) 303 pp. Cream-coloured boards lettered in gilt on the spine; endpaper maps; blue upper edge; illustrated with black and white plates. A bit of wear at the corners of the dustjacket; publisher's stamp on the front free endpaper. The translator was Ian Fleming's far-more-famous brother. Far-more-famous, that is, until Ian created James Bond. Dr. Migot entered Tibet as the war, in December 1946 and travelled from Kunming to Tangar, concluding his journey in September 1947. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Overall a good condition item. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning. Unclipped jacket has heavy edgewear with some areas of loss, heavy tears, chips and, creasing. Visible tanning to spine. Notable rubbing to surfaces.
