MacGibbon and Kee, London, 1972. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition (ex-library)/Good. Illustrator: Ralph Steadman. Dramatis Personae, preface by author. Illustrated end pages – being a chess board. Black-and-white illustrated frontispiece and the illustrations within the text (some double page), are by Ralph Steadman. Black coloured boards with silver coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by Ralph Steadman, with pale purple and white coloured titles to the front panel and act strip. Title says it all. Alice's second adventure. This book is an ex-library book, and, has the faults of same – library stamps to the half title page, front text edge and rear end page, library number to the title page. Remnants of Due Back slip to the rear free end page. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with some white marks to the lower left-hand corner of the front panel. Rubbing of the book corners and there is a 1 inch split to the lower edge of the front spine gutter stop tape remnants are present to the end pages and the front end page has some white marks. Internally a little age toning, but otherwise clean and bright. Library sticker to the lower edge of the back strip. Rubbing and sunning of the dustwrapper edges and panels with patchy fading also present. First edition of the work in this format and binding, and/or set or series. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall.
