Contents include An Introductory Sketch of the Natural History of British India; Part I, Historical includes Hindoo Period, Mahomedan Period, European Period; Part II: Political; Part III: Physical; Part IV: Moral; Appendices, folding map, Index.

8vo, xii, 492pp, all edges marbled. Many in text engraved illustrations. Full tan decorative gilt morocco binding, with ornately gilt decorated spine, raised bands, boards detached. Front board sunned; 2 spine panels marked. Internally, remnant of library sticker removed at marbled end paper; armorial bookplate of Boyer family, with motto "Contentment Passe Richesse".. Two previous owner inscriptions. Pages bright and very clean; map in excellent condition.
