New York: Covici.Friede, 1935. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Fine book of Odets"s plays, Awake and Sing, Waiting for Lefty, Till the day I die. very fine unopened review copy. Clean and bright with nice top stain. End papers and paste downs and fore edge a trifle foxed. Book is a review copy with publishers notice tipped into book. " Please do not release review prior to the above date. ( May 15 1935)" All three plays were copy righted in 1935. Awake and Sing was first performed by the Group Theater at Belasco Feb. 19th 1935. Waiting for Lefty was first performed at the Longacre Theater March 26th 1935 and Till the day I die was first staged on March 26th at the Longacre theater at the same time as waiting for Lefty. An important collectible, in very fine condition.
