[Three leaflets issued by "Sanity now"]

  • Used
La Puente, CA: Sanity Now, 1968. Three single-sheet mimeographed items, two 8.5x11, the third 8.5x14 inches; horizontal fold creases for mailing, one has postal markings and stamp on rear. One sheet is labeled "Sanity Now" newsletter 16, a series that continued for more than a decade (this one is on the catastrophic Democratic convention in Chicago). One dated Sept. 15 is about the rise and fall of the Peace and Freedom Party, discussing how young people attracted to it because of opposition to the draft had balked when confronted with its radical program and affiliation with the Black Panthers (the tone is pro-P&FP, criticizing the balkers as "truth-dodging liberals). The third leaflet is titled "Why did USSR invade Czechoslovakia?" It supports the invasion as having suppressed a Western-inspired fascist revival. Sanity Now was a peace activist center supportive of the Peace and Freedom Party.
