New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1943. First edition, with Scribner's A on the copyright page. Black cloth, frontis portrait of Wolfe's mother, endpapers printed with facimiles of the handwritten letters, dustjacket. The book has a bumped upper corner (pages not affected), good hinges, sound text block, unevenly age-toned endpapers with some surface scuffing to the front free endpaper, pages age-toned but clean, name and address inside front cover with note of where the book was purchased in 1943, no other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped [3.00] and has some shelf rubbing, edgewear and minor chipping, age-toned white background to the rear panel, fairly little paper loss. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
