London: Methuen, 1906. Gilt title on blue cloth boards which have minor marks and very little wear. Internally there is a small name to front pastedown, age darkening to endpapers, foxing to some pages and closed edges, sporadic marks to some pages, one page has a small removal to the top margin, else a clean tight copy. xv + 800 pages. The masterful explanation by the former Chaplain to the King and Bishop of Gloucester, Edgar Charles Sumner Gibson was first published in 1896/7. The Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion are the historically defining statements of doctrines of the Anglican church with respect to the controversies of the English Reformation.
