London, United Kingdom: Collins for the Crime Club, 1949. Red cloth boards remain clean and well preserved. Slight lean to spine. Black title lettering sharp and definite. All pages are present and correct with no inscriptions and are tightly bound. Somewhat foxed to the prelims and moreso to the leading edge, text unaffected. Top edge of pages is a little dusty. Dustwrapper remains bright but has slight marking to rear panel and a little overall wear and signs of handling. Top of spine has slight chipping and wear, but overall a very decent example of the atmospheric dustwrapper with the same illustration as the first printing. Not price clipped and now protected in a removeable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. This is a very decent example of a scarce E.C.R. Lorac title which has survived well.. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good/Good +. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Second Impression.
