French text translation by Victor Hugo of the complete plays of William Shakespeare; this set published 1961 to 1964; marbled boards with gilt titles to quarter leather spines with four raised bands & decorations in gilt & black; green end-papers with patterned 'G' (for Garnier) within diamond shapes all in gold coloured print to volumes 1 & 2 - marbled brown end-papers to volume 3; integral yellow ribbon bookmarks to each volume; illustrations in b/w. to each volume include scenes from plays, portraits of Shakespeare & of Queen Elizabeth I, facsimile playbills, etc. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. LXXX + 1010 + 1220 + 1142. 3-volume set (complete). Text is in French. Bindings are tight, covers and spines fully intact. no Dust Jackets as published..
