Early edition in half brown leather, with brown, green and pink marbled paper over boards; gilt bands on spine, black letter box for gilt titling, 12mo., edgeworn and leather cracked along front hinge. Pink marbled page edges. Binding sound though front hinge cracked inside and a little shaky. Interior unmarked, and pages may be lightly toned but no foxing evident other than end papers darkened in silhouettes corresponding to outer leather corners. Owner's last name in ink and erased notes to ffep. Not a reprint. BOOK INFO: Precede d'une Notice par M. Auger, Secretaire Perpetuel de l'Academie Francaise.
