Fading to top spine edge and small line of fading just below center of spine. No fraying. Binding is tight & square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Inscribed and signed by author on front free endpaper: "To Frank R. Stone with kind regards from Austin K. Gray - Nov. 9, 1945." Illustrated with black and white plates. 385 pages with index. Colorfully illustrated jacket is not price clipped (3.50 on front inside flap), has up to 1/2" chipping at top spine edge, narrow ragged chip at spine center, edge wear. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. The biography of Te3resa Guiccioli, the last of Lord Byron's "ladies." Their love affair lasted over four years, four times as long as any of Byron's other alliances -- and was terminated only by his sailing for Greece to meet his death at Missolonghi..
