About This Item

Edinburgh and London: William Blackwood and Sons, 1841. Three volumes complete - Volume One - viii, 403pp, [1]; Volume Two - [4], 391pp, [1] and Volume Three - [4], 429pp, [3]. Later full polished calf by Riviere, raised bands, spines in six panels, morocco title label to second panel, contrasting author / volume label to third, remaining panels with gilt central quadrilobe and volute corner pieces, triple fillet border to covers, with roundel corner pieces, gilt rules to edges, gilt roll to inner edges, a.e.g., with maroon endpapers. Very slightly rubbed to extremities, a couple of minor scuffs to covers. Internally lightly browned, but clean. The Foyle copy, with the Beeleigh Abbey book plate to each front pastedown, an attractive set. Wolff 7072. First Edition. Full Calf. Very Good. 8vo.
