Hall and Locke, Boston, 1902. Reprint. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Illustrated. erditorial Board, list of volumes, list of coloured illustrations, The Magic of Imagination by editor, biographical notes and suggestions for supplementary reading. Illustrated end pages – please see photograph. The text is illustrated with seven coloured plates, including frontispiece, and 135 black-and-white pictures within the text. Purple coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Taken from across time and across many countries, a selection of fantasy tales for the young reader. Selections from Gulliver in Lilliput, from the Arabian Nights, and from various authors. Part four of a 20 volume set. The book is showing its age and – please see photographs. Softening, rubbing and fraying of the back strip edges and there is a gouge mark to the back strip 1.5" from the lower edge. Bumping and rubbing to the book corners and there is quite noticeable rubbing of the book panels. Marks, rubs and stains are also present to the book panels. Uniform tanning of the text block edges along with some marks to the front text edge. The hinges has cracked, the rear worst than the front. Between pages 188 and 189 the book has been "over opened" and the underlying webbing is visible. Offset tanning and browning to the end pages. Third Edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
