New York, September 13, 1928., 1928.. Very good. - Chamberlain Brown's 3 inch high by 5 inch wide card with the agent's name centered at the top, presenting Lee Patrick to the producer & director Hamilton Macfadden. Both Lee Patrick's and Macfadden's names have been typed in, though the producer's name is misspelled "Mac Fadden". Dated "9/13/28", the card is signed in black ink by Lee Patrick agreeing to "pay Chamberlain Brown commission for the engagement" if hired. William H. Busch's address is penned across the verso. The card is soiled with a few light spotted stains. Very good.

The American actress Lee Patrick (1901-1982) began her career on stage in "The Bunch and Judy" which featured Adele Astaire and her brother Fred Astaire. She went on to perform not only in musicals and comedies but also in dramatic parts such as that of "Meg" in "Little Women". She began to perform in films in 1929 and played such memorable characters as Sam Spade's assistant "Effie" in "The Maltese Falcon".

The famous talent agent and producer Chamberlain Brown (1892-1955) is said to have discovered such memorable stars as Valentino, Clark Gable, Leslie Howard, and Tallulah Bankhead among others.
