The Tale of the Tales – The Beatrix Potter Ballet

Very Good Condition/Good. the dustwrapper is rubbed at the head and tail of the spine and at the bottom right hand corner of the front panel with short split, and there is a short closed tear about 2 inches up from the base on the left-hand side of the front panel. Previous owner's name sticker on the bottom of right-hand corner of the front free end page. There is also a faint mottled mark on the top edge of the text block. Internally, there is no damage to describe. The story opens the book; then the ballet is revealed through its "script", a series of working sketches drawn by Christine Edzard; to show how exactly their translation, they are set off by some of Beatrix Potter's illustrations and a text which Rumer Godden has woven from Beatrix Potter's own words. Towards the end, the book flows into stills taken from the picture with an accompaniment of Beatrix Potter's miniature letters, which give an "afterlife" to the characters. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall.
