NY: Harper and Brothers, 1857. Hardcover. Good. 6 x 9 1/2 in. 600 pp with index. Condition is GOOD ; Original blindstamp decorated brown cloth with Harpers on cover, gilt spine lettering. Probably a third printing. Condition is GOOD ; corners bumped and worn with some board showing, edges have wear. Covers rubbed and Harpers rubbed down to dark base. Ends of spine are worn with about 1/2 inch missing at each and some closed tears along the hinges. Spine gilt difficult to read. Front hinge starting with binding remaining quite solid. Contemporary PO's signature on front pastedown with some numbers in pencil, on title pg and numerously on final pg of text. Endpapers foxed and soiled, title pg and some of the text have mild foxing though all is clearly readable. Econ. RGR.
