Stretching over almost 50 years old the author's life, this selection of letters, written two acquaintances and close friends, shows her to be chary of the assumptions of privilege, a connoisseur's eye for the bogus while revealing her special brand of wit and humour. Softening of the backstrip edges with light browning and scattered foxing of the textblock edges. Light browning of the pages and original bookseller's sticker to the lower right hand corner of the front paste-down. Rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels and there is quite significant fading to the backstrip and yellowing of the rear panel. Foxing splotches to the fold over panels.
