Small square quarto [4to], pictorial boards, with image repeated on dust jacket (unclipped), illustrated with ~ 16 full color plates by Leo and Diane Dillon, pictorial endpapers, [32] glossy pages. This is a story about a lonely boy who is afraid of the dark until he is introduced to a new world by his new friend, a little girl. Ray Bradbury copyrighted the story in 1955. This illustrated edition is dedicated to famous artist and geometrical-illusionist M.C. Escher, whose works are variously emulated in entrancing illustrations by the Dillons. Leo Dillon (1933 - 2012) and his wife Diane Sorber Dillon (born 1933), who worked hand-in-glove, were American illustrators of more than 100 children's books and adult paperback book and magazine covers.
