About This Item

New York: Alfred A. Knopf / Borzoi Book, 1993. First Edition, First Printing. Pictorial boards. Very Fine/Fine. Leo and Diane Dillon. Small square quarto [4to], pictorial boards, with image repeated on dust jacket (unclipped), illustrated with ~ 16 full color plates by Leo and Diane Dillon, pictorial endpapers, [32] glossy pages. This is a story about a lonely boy who is afraid of the dark until he is introduced to a new world by his new friend, a little girl. Ray Bradbury copyrighted the story in 1955. This illustrated edition is dedicated to famous artist and geometrical-illusionist M.C. Escher, whose works are variously emulated in entrancing illustrations by the Dillons.
