Suttree by Cormac McCarthy - 1980

1st UK. I have two copies of Suttree listed, please check my other listing. D/W is unclipped shows price £6-95 net to inside flap. D/W has a chip missing to tail of spine which has resulted in loss of some of the publishers name Chatto and Windus. There is wear and chipping to head of spine and minor wear to corners. this is a notoriously flimsy wrapper so on the whole this is still a very nice example of this classic novel. Endpapers clean, save for a small bookseller sticker on the fep. Some foxing on the verso of the d/w shows through in places on the inside flaps. The black cloth on the spine binding is faded at the foot of the spine corresponding to the chip there, and there is a slight dent to the bottom right corner of the front board. Binding is square and tight and the pages beautifully clean throughout. A very scarce McCarthy 1st edition - I can send you a hi res scan of the publishers name on the lower spine of the d/w from my other copy listed in case you wish to restore this d/w. Not a major job at all. Many copies you might find are ex lib as this was a small print run and McCarthy had not yet gained recognition as a mainstream writer - that all came about after All the Pretty Horses was published. I have now listed all 5 of the UK 1st editions of McCarthy's first five novels and you could buy the entire collection in one purchase.
