About This Item
New York: Doubleday & Co, 1954. First Edition. Octavo. 521pp. This is not a history of the woman suffrage movement but the history of a woman's life but at the same time, the woman suffrage movement was the biggest part of her life. Sadly, she never got to see her life long dream come true. This is the first real modern biography of the great reform leader and it is the first time she is portrayed as a woman of deep and warm feeling, living in a complex social and political era. Bound in light blue cloth, spine lettering gilt. A near fine copy in very good pictorial dust jacket with Minor edge wear with a a small piece (about 1"x1") torn away from upper corner of rear panel. A very good copy.
