Boston: Ticknor and Fields. 630 pp., errata leaf. 4 internal library stamps, but no pockets or other marks. 3 color lithograph plates (including frontis), folding lithograph plate, 2 half-tone plates, text engravings. Original green cloth, gilt lettered boards rebacked with original spine laid down, new endpprs, uncut and unopened. Warren was surgeon to Mass. General Hosp., and assisted his father, John Collins Warren, in the first public demonstration of surgery using ether for anesthesia. The folding plate illustrates instruments used in operations for cleft palate (see GM 5745); the color plates illustrate various tumors. Title page and first table of contents pulling with professional repair of one page. . Good Plus. Hardcover. First Edition. 1867.
