Green pebble-grained blind-embossed cloth with elaborate gilt spine lettering and decorations. 627pp. Numerous full-page illustrations. Very good. Bit of edgewear and corner wear, mainly to spine. A tight and quite nice later printing of this pseudonymous 1872 compilation of writings by David Ross Locke (1833-88), a political writer and journalist and one of Lincoln's favorite humorists. "Nasby" spoke in southern dialect and was a Copperhead and Democrat whose foibles were meant to support the Union cause.
