New York: International Music Co.. Sheet Music. Near Fine. 9" x 12. [International # 2163] The first of Tchaikovsky's three complete quartets, composed in 1871. MOVEMENTS: Moderato e semplice; Andante cantabile; scherzo - Allegro non tanto e con fuoco; Finale - Allegro giusto. 16+15+15+13 pages. CONDITION: The parts and their folio cover are bright and uncreased, with minimal shelf-wear. They are unmarked but for the previous owner's name on the cover of each (else gradable as Fine). This handsome set is now in a clear, protective polypropylene bag with archival backing board.

Moscow: Muzgiz - State Music Publishers, 1956. First Thus . No Binding. Near Fine. 8.75" x 11.5. An engaging short version of Tchaikovsky's balletic masterpiece, containing many of the ballet's most beloved themes, suitable for orchestras of modest forces (student orchestra, theatre orchestra, etc.). The arrangement and specific instrumentation was devised by L. Atovmian. INSTRUMENTATION: flute, oboe, 2 clarinets, 2 trumpets, trombone, percussion, accordion, piano-conductor, violin I (possible conductor], violin II, viola cello, and contrabass. A smaller ensemble presentation is also possible, as suggested by the arranger: "possible minimal performance of the composition with 5 instruments: c/tpt/pf/vn/vc". The 35-page piano-conductor score is not a "full score" as such, consisting only of the piano part and an ensemble cue line designating instruments. The violin I part also contains the cue lines. Moscow: Muzyka - State Music Publishers, 1990. First Thus . No Binding. Fine. 8.5" x 11.5. The full score and parts for one of Tchaikovsky's excellent but lesser-known short orchestral works, this wind orchestra version attributed to one S. Ganachev. [This is NOT the $49.50 Ludwig Music "Grade 3" arrangement by John Boyd] This March is in the key of Ab Major, tempo-marked "Andante molto maestoso". Conductor's score: 47 pages. CONDITION: a bright, clean, unmarked, uncreased set, compromised only by light shelf-wear to the outer folder. This superb copy is now in a clear, protective polypropylene bag with archival backing board. NOTE: multiple score orders, depending on weight, may qualify for a generous shipping charge reduction.
