Hardcover. 248p., frontispiece (artwork by Mary Melish), previous owner's name on front blank end paper else very good condition in an unclipped, shelf worn and chipped dust jacket. "A book of sermons by a Protestant minister whose communist sympathies resulted in a court case against the father, former rector, for refusing to fire him. Many of the sermons reflect his secular faith, commenting on the suppression of civil liberties in America, the need for coexistence with Russia. America's obsession with the inevitability of a third world war, etc. Addenda following some of the sermons contain material on the Melish case.
