About This Item

New York: Knopf, 1977. First printing. Paperback. Fine. Stated first printing, simultaneous issue in wraps, 1977, inscribed 'For Henry, my best, 12/1/77, David W. Rabe.' About fine copy. Inscription is to Henry Hewes, the longtime theater reviewer for the Saturday Review, who reviewed the production of this play very positively in the SR, although he wrote, "many in the audience might find the combination of overt homosexual activity and gory violence too strong to take," but finished by saying it was the "most beautiful play" that Rabe had yet written. An excellent association copy.
