London: Oliver & Boyd, 1967. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. The interior of the book is crisp and clean, with no marks or wear. The beige covers are fresh, with light wear at tips and corners. Synopsis: When s dirty and dishelvelled stranger burst into the den built by a group of boys, they had to decide whether to hide him, or turn him into the police. The decision taken, the boys were left to battle their with the consequences, each in his different way. The strain of guilty conscience tested the friendship, which before had made the boys inseparable. The gang was in danger of splitting up, and perhaps might have disbanded for good had it not been for the guidance of one parent, which set them on the uphill struggle to prove that their decision had been the right one.
