New York: Harrison Smith & Robert Haas. Good with no dust jacket. 1932. First Edition. Hardcover. First edition. A most interesting copy: on the [originally] blank rectos of the frontispiece, cursively handwritten is "ghost written by / harry K ryerson". Underneath that is hand printed: "(who was Purser on board S.S. So. Cross / and who is a remarkably clever, witty and / sociable gentleman. He was relieved for / the brief period of this trip to / a greater or less extent by the / team of Wilkes, Haynes, & Ballaninger)". Under that is hand-printed "Wm. M. Ballinger / 1624 Eye N.W.". At the top of the page the details of a 1932 trip to Bermuda on the S. S. So. Cross are hand printed. On the opposing page, three original photographs have been mounted: two are of [a total of three] individuals, the third is the New York waterfront/skyline apparently taken from aboard ship. 374 pages, illustrated, bibliography. Both hinges cracked else a VG or better copy [lacking the Dust Wrapper].; Signed by Author .bx153
