About This Item

New York: David McKay, 1965. First Edition. Wraps. Faint creasing to covers. Near Fine. Advance Reading Copy in printed blue wraps of author's first book, which was made into a film starring Liza Minnelli, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress. With a long SIGNED INSCRIPTION by the author to editor Bill Targ and his wife, Roslyn, a literary agent: "Back in the prehistoric age when I was but a lad and this thing was just taking flight, I wrote long letters to you - Roslyn - and received beautiful polite epistles in return. Little did I know that the very person with whom I was communicating then would turn up white, angelically and incredibly beautiful on the arm of my future editor and friend. Eh bien, c'est comme ca - and thank goodness for you both! John." Laid in is a homemade Christmas card from Nichols SIGNED by him for his wife and cat.
