Among all the diplomatic correspondance on the depredations by the French and Great Britain as well as the potentates of North Africa in their capturing and enslaving American sailors, there are all the important figures in addition to the 103 captured U.S. vessels with their names and their masters as well as the value of each ship. Here is the long address of President Adams to Congress who are called together under extraordinary pressure regarding the XYZ affair. Bound in recent brown leather, raised bands, double maroon leather spine labels gilt. Some toning to leaves, no foxing. very good.
