First Edition! New York: Condé Nast Publications. Digest-size Magazine. March 1977 & September, October, and November 1978. Very Good. Spider and Jeanne Robinson's novel Stardance first appeared in print in four parts in Analog Science Fiction / Science Fact magazine. The novella "Stardance" published in the March 1977 issue, which won the Hugo and Nebula Awards for Best Novella and was #1 in the 1977 Locus poll, forms the opening segment of the novel. The remainder of the novel appeared under the title Stardance II the September, October, and November 1978 issues of Analog. Stardance II was #1 in the 1978 Analog poll for Best Serial, received and Honorable Mention for the 1979 Hugo Award for Best Novel, and was nominated for the 1979 Ditmar Award for Best International Long Fiction. When published in book form as a complete novel, Stardance placed #4 in the 1980 Locus poll for Best Science Fiction Novel. Cover art (Mar 77 + Sept 78) and interior illustrations by John Schoenherr and Richard Powers. Also includes "Swanilda's Song" (#4 in Locus poll for best novelette) by Frederik Pohl; "Lifeloop" [Tales of Capitol] (#1 in 1978 Analog poll for best short story) by Orson Scott Card; and "Hunter's Moon" (Hugo Award for Best Novelette, #2 in Locus poll, #4 in Analog poll) by Poul Anderson.
