Internally clean, free of prevous owners marks or signatures, but pages browned throughout.  The binding is tight with hinges intact.  The dust jacket is in very good condition, slightly soiled and shelfworn with light wear along edges and folds. Leon Trotsky (1879-1940), himself a dedicated revolutionary, opposed just about everything that Stalin stood for; as a result he was expelled from the Communist Party, deported, and eventually murdered by Stalin's agents in 1940. Published in the following year, this book stands as a sort of death-bed testament. This is a Very Good copy of the Second Edition (stated). Edited, and translated from the Russian by Charles Malamuth. Black cloth binding with gilt lettering. Clean text; 516 pages, indexed. This is an ex-libris copy, but the only indication is a small stamp on the front paste-down; no other markings/pockets. The dustjacket is complete and unclipped, but a bit tattered at the edges due to chipping. Reds and blacks of the dusjacket are still very bright. In an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Second Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good Minus.
