About This Item

München (Munich), 1912. A very rare original etching by Steppes, titled and signed in pencil. 14.5 x 20 cm (plate), 24.2 x 35 cm (sheet). Printed on fine wove paper. PERFECT CONIDTION, WITH NO DEFECTS. Andreas Zoller mentions this etching in his catalogue ("Der Landschaftsmaler Edmund Steppes (1873-1968) und seine Vision einer "deutschen Malerei"," Braunschweig, 1999, W.ö.S. 70), but obviously never saw it (he says it is undated, but in fact it is dated 1912 in the plate). I have not traced any impression of this etching ever offered for sale.
